When joining or renewing you will select a magazine (excluding Associate membership) to enjoy.  Don't worry, if you don't like it you can change it anytime to another by calling Member Services.  You can also select additional magazines for a nominal price.  Associate Memberships do not include magazines but are otherwise full memberships.  If money is tight it's a great way for 2 people to join and share the magazine.  Junior memberships are great for the kids or grandkids (or both) and make a great gift along with Hunter Education classes.  Young folks are our future, start them off right and share your love of freedom.


  • I get tons of email and junk mail asking for more money and I don't appreciate it.
    • Call the NRA and get off the mailing list and opt out of the email list.  Or just toss it.  Simple.
  • The NRA doesn't represent gun owners in a "no compromise" manner or otherwise doesn't represent me like I want them to.
    • The NRA is an organization.  If you want it to go in a different direction why not get involved and be a voting member or run for a seat on the board?
  • Membership is too expensive, I can't afford it.
    • Seriously?...$25 is too much?  Then join as an Associate Member for $10.  You can do it.
  • The Supreme Court upheld the right to bear arms, why do I need the NRA?
    • Really?  Pay attention - the Supreme Court allowed for "reasonable" gun legislation.  Further, the decision was so narrow as it should scare the hell out of you.  It could easily have gone the other way.
  • "Other" gun rights group are better and I support them instead.
    • That's fine.  I support all of them I can.  Only by strength in numbers will we protect what we hold dear and ensure our children will have the same rights.  The NRA is the oldest and largest of the gun rights groups, and has millions of voices that can not be ignored.
